Go Daddy
In the Go Daddy commercial, Go Daddy is a company which sells domain names on the internet for cheap, there is one basic reptilian hot button in play in this ad, sex. Danica Patrick presents herself in an extremely provocative way. Men are naturally inclined to be attracted to women so this commercial is extremely successful in getting the attention of its target audience. It also is able to convey what it is the company does which is selling domain names. This ad appeals to the love and belonging individual desire for fulfillment. People may not know why they want the product but Danica Patrick makes them want to get it because subconsciously they think of her whenever Go Daddy comes up in conversation. It also makes people curious as to what will happen after the commercial is over. They have many commercials like this one and each of them strive to reach the same audience, men. Let me say again, the advertisement is effective, it takes into account many basic human urges which as seen with many other products and advertisements, works splendidly. I can first hand tell that these are effective.

The Go Daddy commercials are extrememly effective in capturing their audience's attention. As a part of the male population who sees this commercial, I can say firsthand that these commerials have persuaded me to visit the website out of curiosity of their product. This company never mentions their product on their commercials, so by having appealing women on the commercials, they get men (who are the majority of the population of business owners) to visit their website and discover that they sell domain names. This is a good marketing strategy. Go Daddy is probably the most well known Super Bowl commercials. Go Daddy does indeed push the Reptilian Hot Button of sex, they have convinced me and probably many others to visit their website, so I'd say that their advertisement campaign is one of the best I have ever encountered. They have found something that autmoatically gets people to think of their business: attractive women.
ReplyDeleteAs Sam has obviously posted, these ads are effective, however it is not only women who are portrayed sexually. Men are also provocatively paraded around, not necessarily in Go Daddy ads but in general, in order to get women to use and buy their products. Im not saying any of this is wrong but it paints an unnatural picture of what people who use the product look and act like. Companies have gotten away from telling us what our product does and now just try to peak our interest.
